Matt's Hockey Game

Chad and I havent been to one of Matt's hockey games in such a long time, we decided to go and see him play tonight.

Jack, Candice and Chad at the Dr. Pepper Stars Center in Plano

Leo running around in the arena after the game - good times!!

Matt is such a natural athelete - this must be what makes him a great team player.  Understanding that each member of the team, win or lose, has value and is necessary to even compete.

Leo is already showing signs of being a good pitcher - he has the cutest little stance as he pitches line drives to PawPaw.

Our 2013 Anniversary Trip

Atlanta was beautiful - the Swan house was lovely, we werent allowed to take pictures inside, so I snagged a few from the grounds:

After a day in Atlanta, we headed out to our base camp at Apple Mountain Resort.They gave us a unit that faced the woods since I requested something away from all the activities:

Entrance to the resort

Our unit was the last one on the right, top floor - thank goodness for the ramp!

Living room/dining/kitchen = cozy!  bedrooms are behind me in this shot...I guess they all look prety much alike.

.

Our first excursion was Saturday morning to Tallulah Gorge, 10 minutes away from the resort.

We hiked for about 3 miles through the park then took the stairs down to the bottom -
I think it was 531 steps each way.  The trip down is relatively easy, meaning you can take the stairs with ease as you walk and talk with relatives on the way down.  The trip back up is quite different, I would say it relatively brutal, meaning if one of those relatives tries to take your seat on one of the resting benches on the way back up, you might have to get brutal and throw them over the side.

On Sunday we headed north beyond the gorge to North Carolina - we were told about a very scenic drive, with plenty of waterfalls to see.  The one pictured below is my favorite.

Cullasaja Falls

Dry Falls, unless you walk behind it, then its quite moist!

                      So much amazing scenery, everything was lovely, so glad we made the trip!

Such an eventful week!

Our Anniversary trip to Atlanta was amazing - we had the best time, and have discovered a wonderful resort in a beautiful region of the country.  I also discovered my new phone has the panoramic feature available on the camera, as is evident in the picture of mountains below :)

Thursday at work, my department, Business Technology - held its first Pinewood Derby fundraiser for the 2013 Heart Walk.  I think we raised over $300 in 1.5 hours - very cool!

That night, we celebrated Casey's birthday at Razoos since he wanted cajun food.  We came home and ate Candices yummy Boston Cream pie and watched Casey open gifts.

Leo spent Saturday night with us, just for the heck of it - he's so sweet and so much fun!!

Sunday the family came together for Jack's Baby Dedication service at church - the scripture pastor Brad spoke over Jack was Zechariah 4:6
So he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.

Since I usually get to hold Jack during worship, I have noticed he becomes very active when we sing, he kicks his little legs and is constantly moving during the music - we do have a very good worship team, or... is the spirit beginning to stir in this little soul??

                                       Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
                                           Praise Him, all creatures here below;
                                           Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
                                           Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
