One of our favorite dinner destinations when we are at Holly Lake is Rimas - the food is good, especially their homemade bread, the atmosphere is lovely since they are right on the lake and they have really good live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Such a great date night - after our dinner we took a leisurely drive around the lake - our way of relaxing after a busy work week.

Enjoying the breeze, good food, and the lovely music at Rimas!

Very relaxing!

The next morning we thought we should walk off our breakfast and soak up some of the flora and fauna, so we walked the nature trail - the honeysuckle is so fragrant at the ranch, its such a pleasure to take this hike early in the morning and just inhale deeply!

Another perfect weekend at the ranch - always looking forward to the next one!

Mothers Day this year was so fun!  We got to keep the boys for a sleepover Friday night.  This is a picture I snapped Saturday morning on the patio after breakfast.  Jack looks a little sleepy...but he slept great in his little play pen - maybe he is just putting up with the Johnny Jump Up -?

I thought I had a great idea of beating the lunch crowd after church on Sunday, and having an early supper at Texas Land and Cattle - but that was a bust.  Even so, I walked away with some great pictures, in spite of the less than mediocre service this trip.

No trip to this side of the harbor is complete without a visit to the Bass Pro next door, Leo loves to watch the fish, drive the display boats, and run and squeal in the back hallway.  So much fun!

Candice made me the most beautiful gift basket - full of pictures, and goodies, and a precious Mixbook of times in her life this past year- she is such a pro at gift giving!!  Wish I had her talent!!

Such a lovely weekend - so thankful to be a Mom, so thankful for fun times together!!

Yesterday Candice, Jack, Leo and ME, took off to meet everyone on my side, that could meet, for an early Mothers Day lunch in Sherman.  It was a nice visit, the weather was lovely, as was the company and conversation.  I was able to get a few pictures; these are the highlights.

Cindy, Axle, Jack, Nana and Leo
Trying to get this group shot was really funny, and this was the best out of all of the ones I tried, even though they were all so cute!  It's all good!!

Happy Mothers Day to us, especially Mom, Nana the Great!

What a great week, but so glad its over :P  Chad is visiting family out of town, and Casey is elsewhere - so I was on my own for the weekend,  until Leo joined me Saturday afternoon for an overnighter.

Stories and games on my Nook  before bedtime - good times!

5 of our past presidents will be present for the dedication of the George W Bush Library - at SMU tomorrow.  Matt was involved with some of the preperations at the Library - and sent some pictures of the happs.

Matt is here at 14 seconds under the Caption:
I like the way he told us in his text message what he was doing today  - "We get to install the glass to protect the president today."

Way to go Matt - what a great work day for you and your crew!  Congratulations!

Leo is finally out of his cast and we are all so happy for him!  Now a little therapy, or time -  whichever is easiest, and he will be bouncing around as usual.  Looking forward to that!  One more family trip on the horizon, when he is able to travel.

It's very cold today, the temperature dropped 40+ degrees since dinner last night.  Chad and I had supper on the patio, and thoroughly enjoyed the nice breeze from the south, and the clear blue sky, I even turned on the ceiling fan in our bedroom before bed last night, since it was a little warm.

Casey and his friends are in Galveston kayak/fishing this week, and hopefully enjoying a nice respite!  Not sure if they have had the intense weather we have had or not, guess we will hear about it this weekend.

I'm not sure how it happened, but this Easter I walked away without any pictures from our Easter Celebration -??  I think I did more playing with the babies, visiting and eating then recording the memory - I hate when that happens!  Not one picture!  It was fun to be together, and watch Leo as he enjoyed his Easter Baskets - he gets them in multiples since he's just so gosh darn cute -and has so many admirers ;->

I realized this morning as I was thinking of what to blog about, that I could capture at least one of the goodies that Candice made for everyone, since Casey hadn't eaten his yet.  I know this picture doesn't do the goodies justice, but the Twinkie car with the Peep bunny driver and the jar of jelly beans covered in curious butterflys, is so sweet and clever!

It was a lovely, peaceful day, and I am thankful for my family, and all the blessings we enjoy, and the salvation our Creator has provided through our Lord, Christ Jesus.
